This is quite a movie based on quite a story. It is the story of Rich Mullins, a well-known Christian singer and composer who is known for the song Our God is an Awesome God and many other Christian songs. Rich definitely was not normal and was open in front of people. He understood that no one was perfect and everyone needed the grace of God. He fought and dealt with struggles like drinking. He also accepted a salary that was comparable to the average American, even while making a good living from his music. He donated most of it to charities and churches. Rich had a strict father who was a farmer, but found affection in his relationship with God and in his Christian friends. He liked to create music that came from his heart, so he fought against creating music for the sake of popularity.
Rich Mullins does a great job singing as Michael Koch in the film. This DVD has a very clear faith message, but like many movies, it has inappropriate content such as excessive drinking and smoking, along with strong language. It is being awarded our Faith Based Seal because of the strong redemptive message embedded in the film. I believe everyone who has faced life’s challenges and addictions will be inspired by “Ragamuffin.”Father physically grabs his child a few times and roughly pulls him by the chin; Horrific jeep accident; guy angrily breaks a phone booth glass; A man hurls a phone out of frustration; A man angrily slaps another man’s coffee cup.
In multiple scenes, people smoke and drink, which includes a drunk man falling down in a funeral home.

Depression after death, a boy claiming to have attempted suicide at one point, a man struggling with accepting anger, as well as some forms of conflict between the characters.
